Direct Support Professional – Rehabilitation Facility/Day Program (Long Branch, NJ)

Universal Institute of Rehabilitation is hiring DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONALS

Direct support professionals are responsible for assisting with activities of daily living and facilitating recreational activities in our day program centers for adults with developmental and acquired disabilities

Primary Work Responsibilities:

• Assist the clients with hygiene, toileting, transfers, and mealtime activities.
• Following all dietary restrictions, medical, behavioral, and general safety precautions.
• Monitor client’s performance during rehab and day program and report any significant issues to the program supervisor.
• Encourage clients to engage in recreational activities when not in therapy.
• Maintain appropriate client-to-staff ratio.
• Assist with safe evacuation during emergencies/evacuation drills.
• Maintain all required documentation, including but not limited to seizure logs, activities, logbook, daily activity logs, weight charts, toileting logs, attendance sheets, and all other required documentation.
• Transport and assist the clients on community outings.
• Administer medications, follow seizure protocols, and other medical orders.
• Accompany clients to medical appointments or hospital visits
• Supervise clients for safety.

Job Type:

• Full-Time

Pay:

• Up to $19.00/hour
