Poconos

AUGUST 2022

Mt. Airy + The Poconos

What a summer this has been for the UI Rehab family; we may be biased but we don’t know of any group of clients who are more spoiled than ours. After a wildly eventful summer season, we ended the month of August with two (yes, two) trips to the Poconos in Pennsylvania – one to the Mt. Airy Casino Resort and the second to the Woodloch Resort. Both trips were 4 day, 3 night stays.

The first trip to the Mt. Airy Casino and Lodge was located in the town of Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania and is a AAA four Diamond casino resort. The clients were able to unwind and relax for a few days among the lush, green Pocono mountains. The staff reserved two cabanas by the pool for the entire stay and the clients took full advantage of them. In addition to courting Lady Luck at the slots and tables of the casino, the crew enjoyed a group dinner every night, including a client-favorite Hibachi experience. During the one day that it rained on the vacation, the group decided to see the new Elvis movie together at the local movie theatre.

It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to.

J.R.R. Tolkien

We never cut corners when it comes to these client vacations. There’s a very basic rule we follow when we plan these trips – if we wouldn’t vacation there ourselves, then our clients shouldn’t either.

With that in mind, the final vacation of the summer was at the Woodloch Resort, again in the Poconos, which is rated as the #1 family resort in the United States. This vacation was especially action-packed from beginning to end. The daytime was filled with all kinds of water sports and outdoor activities – paddle boats and bumper boats with water guns, bumper tire rides, hay rides, and the pool and hot tub – to name just a few. During the nighttime the group saw both a comedy and a magic show, danced all night at a silent disco, made smores by a campfire, and ate delicious dinners right on premise at the resort. Thank you to Jimmy, Jaymee, MaryAnn and the rest of the wonderful staff for making so many fun memories with the clients this summer. Au revoir, Poconos!
